ABSOLUTE INSANITY
The organizers of the 2007 TOYOTA Great Ethiopian Run have been asked by the Ethiopian government to postpone the date of this year’s competition. The run had been planned for Sunday 9th September as a major part of Ethiopia’s Millennium celebrations just three days before the Ethiopian New Year and the news of the postponement will come as a huge disappointment for the thousands of participants who have been eagerly awaiting the seventh edition of the event. This was a well planned move by the Gov. The GER had some history of protest against the government. It got so bad last year that they were showing footage of previous year during the race. It was obvious because every runner was wearing last years t-shirts. The gov could not ban it earlier.. because it would look bad.
